Bordeaux has more than a dozen of parks and gardens that are the lungs of the city and very pleasant places to stroll, cycle, picnic, play sports….
Among the best known parcs, we find the Parc Bordelais, which spans over 28 hectares with its multiple playgrounds, an animal park, a Puppet theatre and especially its little train that your children will adore!
The Jardin Public, a very romantic atmosphere near the golden triangle of Bordeaux with a mixture of blond Bordelais stone, the harmony of its 18th century architecture and a sweet little stream bordered by hundred-year-old trees. There are numerous playgrounds, a well-known puppet theatre, a dog park and much more.
Bordered by private mansions, hosting the Museum of Natural History, a Botanical Garden, and a very pleasant bistro restaurant, the Orangery, the Jardin Public is listed in the “Outstanding parcs of France".
The Bourran Park in Mérignac has 18 hectares of land, landscaped by the renowned landscaper Le Breton in 1884 and listed as a historic monument with its castle which now houses the University of Education and Teaching (ESPE Aquitaine)… but also its scattered lakes, exotic species, a romantic bridge, a rockery cave and you can rub shoulders with a whole collection of ornamental birds (water hens, geese, white and black swans, geese with crossed heads, Egyptian geese, gray heron).
But also the Bois de Thouars in Talence, Domaine du Pinsan in Eysines, Bois Margnat in Artigues, Château de Vayres, Domaine de la Burthe in Floirac, Bourgailh in Pessac….
